Watch How the Coronavirus Spread Across The United States
Since The Times is making Coronavirus coverage free, I think anyone can use this link. You will watch a map of the U.S. spread as each case is added over the last couple months and how the graph heads straight up. Just a well put together moving graphic of the spread and also a bit about the trajectory. Hopefully, all our sheltering in place slows that straight up climb on the graph so there will be enough respirators.

Just a moving picture that makes it all very clear.

The Chinese are making great efforts of late through their Communist Controlled media to trot out to our western media to avoid calling it Chinese or Wuhan virus to avoid any association with this being attributed to them as a Chinese flu, or the Wuhan virus where it originated from so they have now gotten it to be called the Covid 19 virus and will do everything in their power to having it not being associated with someplace in China. The Wuhan Chinese flu.

So what of the Spanish Flu, if I say I had the Spanish flu, (or the Swine Flu H1N1) am I being racist for saying this,no, I am just saying it is the Spanish Flu where it originated from why is it that if I call the Chinese wuhan virus a Chinese virus am I being racist. not really, just calling it where it came from. So ridiculous that people are getting their panties in a knot if someone calls it a China flu

“Chinese virus” is a racist distraction serving no useful purpose. Of course, Trump and Fox put that shit out, but to solve what? To help how? Anything to distract from a grossly inept and misleading response by an inept administration (like he’s now trying to blame governors for the baffling lack of testing), but now Asian Americans are being harassed. The scientific name will suffice.

Spanish flu didn’t even originate in Spain. That was just one of the first areas with a press that was honest about the virus in the population. Then, like now, people were eager to pin some sort of national blame on a biological event which is inevitable throughout our species’ history. Viruses don’t have nationalities. They are inevitable biological events we need to prepare for.

How does it serve you better to use ‘Chinese virus’ over the scientific name?

But thanks for the link for sure. It takes about ten seconds to watch.

Just a perspective Bob, I hear your point of view, and I teach a number of students who are originally from mainland China and Taiwan south Asia and have for the past 35 years, and many other people from various ethnic backgrounds I ain't racist ,if I was I would not teach them. anyways, interesting graph

You’ve never struck me as racist or anything but a nice guy, but the term “Chinese virus” sure does strike me as racist. Ask those students how much they think we need to call it that.
