Always seems......................... JeffH

A bit of a hodgepodge but was fun to play/sing...
Has a few bumps and bruises but close to done.

Always seems

I don’t know what I’m gonna say and tomorrow’s sure looking like yesterday but then all these days seem to roll into one long song

Guess I should’ve seen the writing on the wall and the order of the day was kind of tall which makes it even tougher just getting out of bed… I keep hearing voices in my head

And it always seems like it’s running away from me then it’s gone
so long
baby I’m gone gone gone gone gone

Sneaking out the back making sure the coast is clear leaving all alone Baby I’m gone gone gone gone gone

Yeah I don’t know where to find the words I’ve got a blank piece of paper and my eyes are getting blurred The lines aren’t floating… falling from the sky No father with the wisdom giving words to live by

But if I could find a reason a meaning to it all…
I’d write it all down paint it on a wall Guess I’ll keep searching like everybody else
looking for a happy ending in a wishing well My nightmares turn to fairy-tales

But it always seems like it’s running away from me Then it’s gone
so long said
baby I’m gone gone gone gone gone

Free the weight of the world from my shoulders Love from a girl can make you bolder Just a bar-room poet living out a lie
better days are over never take a wife Time passes by so slow until you get older…
yeah older

Still I don’t know what I want to say
no one even noticed if I went away You see all my dreams seem to roll into one long song

I guess I should’ve seen the writing on the wall
said the higher you climb the further you fall But I’ll keep searching like everybody else looking for a happy ending in a wishing well
Don’t take the wind from my sail

And it always seems like it’s running away from me then it’s gone so long

Baby I’m gone gone gone gone gone Baby I’m gone gone gone gone gone

Hey Jeff, This one has great energy. nice blend and well balanced. your vocals are more up front and clear, better job there. dig your hook and cool bass line .tasty guitar playing, bring more. you are doing great. hope I can review more of your works. not that I help, just listening guy

Thank you Bryon...

It's been busy fun these days... still figuring out the software but the basics of hit record, play, take two... take three... got that down.

I've done this song at 3 different tempos... one a bit slower gave it a more country feel and one faster that required a more raucous guitar. I do like how this one moves.
Appreciate your thoughts...

My Brother Lloyd is finishing his country works, great sounds, his third album coming out in September, 3 in 3 years. cranking them out. anyways, he changed a song from 4/4 to 3/4 called one shot and it really works well. sometimes subtle things like that can make a song better, slowing tempo etc, he also did this album with less, its more organic very minimalist and well produced, he writes incredible lyrics and sings well too. Sometimes it helps to do less. and some here should learn that aspect ,sure certain songs need big production, lots of noise and clanging banging but i am finding that there is a trend to paring things down and not cluttering up a mix.

I listen a lot on spotify as well as here, and too me the best songs are the ones with less going on in the instrumentation with well appointed well placed touches here and there.

cheers and good luck

Very cool... my brother is a drummer. Played in bands with him for years when we were younger lads.
Post a link of your brother's tunes I'll give a listen...
I do miss the creative side of working with a real drummer and experimenting with a groove. Superior drums is a better option for sound quality but not the same.

I agree on the less is more... I usually begin with that intention and then get carried away.with ooh let me try this or that...
It does help at least imo to start with just an acoustic guitar. That way it can always be stripped back to the basic groove if it's worth it's weight.

It can be done both ways Jeff, you are so right, absolutely, organic and stripped down and big production if it is a good song, done it both ways, in my other brothers blue voodoo band. They are a duo, sometimes a trio or 4, other times at big venues 6-7 with horns , if the song is good, it can be done solo. Like I know it can cause done it myself playing live. piano only or piano vocals. or with production. His latest is not out till September, but he has others going on,. I have to search out the links, although it is also on his facebook page and artist page

have fun. rock on

Yeah man that's some good sounds... the country vibe is definitely 70's imo... a touch of the Eagles maybe.
I don't really like today's country... though the pickers are crazy good.

Did you guys grow up in the states... lot of American sounds falling out yer family tree... ;-)

No, grew up here in Vancouver BC , although my moms dad came from the great USA montana, so we have marcan genes I suppose. Lloyd is a big lightfoot fan and eagles, Ted and Rick, thebluevoodoo duo write all their stuff and Ted is a great producer engineer ,plays every instrument. 3-4 times a week out playing and then recording others music. We also have Bulgarian and probably Ruskie blood flowing through our viens ,those damn Russians, they are everywhere influencing us Canucks, and maybe yer Marcan politics. lol, now that is a load of bull roar, there was no Russian interference, all made up stuff. anyone that believes that BS is a wingnut, hardee har har.
