Yep, don't worry...I'm back. I just like to re-boot myself every once in a while, and as you can see, I put the whole cd on my page this time. I have enough songs now to complete a new one. I'm gonna use other musicians, and go for an 8 hour semi-live session, like the Beatles did on Please Please Me. Get everything down, then go back and make the necessary changes.
Thanks again for playing the benefit for Kenny! And for coming out to Llywellyn's. I'm sure I'll be seeing ya soon.

Okay, here's the question that's been on my mind since I first listened to your beautiful music:

Is it pronounced like faucet (or Fawcett if you prefer) or is it the French pronunciation like Oh Say (can you see?).

Thanks, and keep up the good work.

If you'll consider having an embarrassing, emotional breakdown (or just a series of angry, misguided outbursts) on the blogs I'll consider adding your music to the hippest new station on iac but, until then, you'll just have to make due with a spot on its sister station. Your music is wonderful; I'm glad I took the time to check out your page.

Love always,

Auset: FLY is still stuck in my craw.

Man, I hope you were serious about letting me cover it, or doing a new duet version with you, but either way - FLY, I think you'd agree, even though it's an old demo, well....it's REALLY well done here - diminished, but larger than life. It has that simple yet strangely complex feel, that is hard to achieve with that much spacing, and it is VERY catchy.

Quite frankly, FLY is that bitter/sweet mix of melancholy/moodiness with uplifting, happy/sad dark moments, that makes GREAT music.

Once it's in your soul, you realize how TRIUMPHANT the emotion and lyric of it is.

I'm just a guy, on IAC, who tries his little heart out.
But I SWEAR to you , THIS one is going to suprise you, and be one of your tunes that stands the test of time.

Just had to give you a new review of FLY, so I can go to bed, and have back my head. I need it for OTHER songs too, ya know..... -== : - }

Richard Scotti

10/13/2009 5:06:42 PM

I went back into my archives and found a less hot mix of At Close Range and replaced it on my page. I don't know when or how the new version appears on your station but the easiest thing to do is delete the song from your station and then go back to my page and re-add the song again. The volume is definitely more appropraite now relative to the other songs. I aim to please!!! Good luck with the contest. You have my votes!

Richard Scotti

10/13/2009 4:45:45 PM

Thank you for adding At Close Range to your station. Your'e right whwn you say it's a hot mix relative to other songs. When I have time, I'm going to replace the song with the same exact version except with some compression on it to subdue the volume a little.
The new version will automatically replace the one on your station.

Wayne Givens

3/18/2009 9:08:52 PM

Hi Auset,

It went great...standing room only. It seemed like everyone already had the cd or downloaded, because they knew the songs. (We still sold quite a few after the show) And the response was great even before we started, just an awesome crowd. The owner wants me to do it again, and I will in about a month or so. That many people out on a Thursday night for original music was a pretty cool thing, and I'm going to put together some shows in different venues this year. The next thing I'm doing is going down to KDHX studio and record songs for one of their shows in a couple of weeks. I appreciate your thoughts and I know you guys would have been there if you could. I'll talk to you soon. :)

Hi Auset and Brad,

Hope your gig went well the other day. (I'm sure it did) Just wanted to let you know I'm having my cd release party on Thursday, March 12 at Sky Music Lounge in Ballwin at 8:30. It's a great place with a p.a. and Ballwin doesn't allow smoking inside, which is a big plus also. I thought it would be cool to open up for the usual band on Thursdays, since the set will probably take about 45 minutes or so. I haven't had a full band rehearsal yet, but what I've heard I'm excited about. I'm usually a bass playe, but to make things easier on everyone, I'm playing acoustic that night. I'm not too concerned about perfection, just a good feel, and everyone having fun. Anyway, I thought I'd let you know so if you're not too busy you can stop by. The album just went on itunes Friday, and that seems pretty cool. Take care.

Yep, I live in Ballwin now, but I grew up around Dogtown... played Seamus McDaniels every Thursday night for a while. I saw your pictures from Music Folk, and until recently I lived pretty close to there. I used to play with Andy Ploof back in the day down on the Landing, he's a great guy. I like your music, and I'll get by to see you sometime. :) Take care!

Just been listening to With You. Lovely simple arrangement. Another masterpiece!

Hugh Hamilton

3/31/2008 11:08:31 AM

LOL! You're "With You" beats mine! I love that downward moving progression - the hook - sweet - evokes Eleanor Rigby a bit to my ear (in a good and novel way)...you know I'd be game to make some noise(s) on an Auset track - but you folks don't need Hugo, sounds perfect as is...congratulations on your various nominations - it's a joy to see your talent being acknowledged here...

To Debs, Gina, Hugh, Dirge K, Auset, Steve I, Steve A, Eagleheadd Susan & Satch---where are we at the moment----on this project?

OK--we finally have all the songs on our computer!!!

We can now do the levels--------- and remaster (if necessary)

We have been working on two different covers (which I will post on the station)

Now I admit to being naieve about how quickly this would happen---we have 2 commissions suddenly --------------------$$$$$$---so they come first !! (Adverts)

We have burned a CD, (as on the station) and will be playing it at "ARTRAGEOUS"
the local Arts Festival here (Blenheim) in the town square-----We have 6 hours so it should get played several times ! We will also plug IAC and Indie Music!

Thanks so much for your patience and especially for the Music

Love

Hey...."mystic" is really kickin' some butt!! Congrats, Auset; that's a great song.
Yeah, things are OK here in Jammerville...though it seems winter is setting in, we're talking about a new CD....just gotta get the chill out of the old bones is all.

Tom Dowd! Man, I knew he worked with the A.Bros which is why when I heard on NPR that there was a DVD out, I just had to have it. I had no idea he had worked with so many of the great folks who shaped my musical soul ! What a dynamic life he had, too. He plain seemed destined to live it on a grand scale, and yet so humble a man.

Thanks for dropping by to say hello. It was a pleasant surprise. How's your new project coming along?

Hugh Hamilton

11/25/2007 1:36:53 PM

Hey Auset...you got a nice mention and some airtime (The Mystic) on last night's "live show/chat"...cool show, might want to have a listen while it's still posted if you didn't "attend" last night...

There's a little button on the iacmusic.com home page...says 24/7 KIAC Internet Radio...you can stream the show - it's about a 3-hour show (I think), but lotsa fun...

Rock on!
