Fires and deforestation in The Amazon
Today I found myself really concerned with the reports of the increase in fires in the Amazon, since that’s where 20% of the world’s Oxygen comes from. From what I can tell many of these fires are being started by ranchers and loggers who are being enabled by Brazil’s President Bolsonaro.

So instead of throwing my hands up and running around like Chicken Little, I decided to try and do something about it. I thought that while boycotts of Brazilian beef might be the most effective tool, i realized that there just isn’t enough awareness of what’s going on for boycotts to catch on

To that end, I launched a petition to ABC News to ask the Democratic Presidential Candidates about these fires and how we should deal with Bolsonaro diplomatically in the next Presidential debate. if you think that’s a good idea please sign and share my petition:

Maybe they are being deliberately set by other people?

I met someone from Brazil recently and asked him about those fires. He responded it's all political, that they have the same rabid "save the earth" goons trying to take over their govt. and they are deliberately setting the fires to support their global warming claims. Being he was from Brazil he might just be right about that, that the people raging about saving the environment are the very same people deliberately destroying it instead in order to obtain their political objectives.
