This is a country bluegrass Gospel song.

This song was recorded at A Writer's Paradise in Nashville and sung by Mike Lusk. The words and music were written by Bob Blackshear.

This is a story about a guy who blew it all on ungodly living, and he makes the case that he needs to know where he's going, and finally realizes that, in Jesus, he now knows where he is going and forgot where he has been.
I Know Where I Am Going…Forgot Where I Have Been

1. Hello, operator, please get Jesus on the line.
I have got my troubles, and I ain’t got too much time.
God’s great grace is sufficient to take away my sin.
I need to know where I’m going (three times),
And forget where I have been.

2. I’ve lived a life of hell on earth; it is a downright shame.
I’ve flung my accusations ‘round, but I’m the one to blame.
God’s great grace is sufficient to take away my sin.
I need to know where I’m going (three times),
And forget where I have been.

3. I’ve sinned against God’s Character—against His Holy Name.
I’ve sought to cover up my deeds, but those I can’t disclaim
God’s great grace is sufficient to take away my sin.
I need to know where I’m going (three times),
And forget where I have been.

4. Now I can go just anywhere with Jesus by my side.
There’s no need to worry nor to run away and hide.
God’s great grace is sufficient to take away my sin.
I know where I am going (three times),
And forgot where I have been.
