I knew when I had conjured up this song in my head, back in 2016, that the vocal would have to be distorted somewhat. I wanted the song to feel somewhat animal. I thought it would create a nice surreal feeling to have fairly straight forward lyrics that you could find in a ballad, being sung with an almost strained and distorted voice. I'm proud in that this song ended up coming out pretty close to the version I heard in my head.

I wrote this song mid 2016 if I can remember correctly. I was walking through the forest at Point Pinole Regional Park around sunset and I started humming the melody interspersed with the guitar riffs that pop up throughout the song. The song reminded me of wolves running.
