Masterpiece
I set out all those years ago, I heard a distant call
I was, flying right into the flame, Never thought I’d ever fall
Thought I’d write these simple lines, and everyone would see
Just what a masterpiece would be.
Knew if I could find the words, or paint a color scheme
I could, Bare my soul unto the world, how easy it all seamed.
Thought the truth was all inside, and only about me
But Honey, I was too blind to see
Chance’s were all I took, But I never ever took a second look
Never saw the pawn take rook, again…..
Solo over bridge
As I paint my Masterpiece, thought it was all about me
Everything, I ever said or thought or done, and everything I see
Looking back at all this time, I never thought it through
Cause I did paint my masterpiece, and my masterpiece was you…..
It’s true, My masterpiece was you.
