I haven't been down to the River Walk since Katrina came to town,
So I'm gonna have a jam with the boys on the corner 'cause I heard that they're feelin' down...oh my!
C'mon now, it might be as bad as it seems,
But we're gonna make it alright now 'cause we're gonna have us a party
Down in New Orleans, yea!
Put the crawfish on the boil now, and jambalaya in the pan,
We gonna pass a good time in the city with every boy, girl, woman, and man.
We gotta make a good reason to smile, everybody, even if it takes all night.

This world is full of injustice, and Lord knows that you've had your share.
Life in the "Big Easy" ain't been the same since the August scare.
All of your worldly possessions may have washed away in the flood,
