My baby started Kindergarten this year and resulted in this song.

Copyright 2008 Written, produced, performed, published by Drew Rice. Recorded with Digital Sac-a'-Lait Productions

I'm recalling his first steps
as he climbs up the first step
of that big old yellow bus
caught somewhere between emotions happy and sad
he smiles as he waves goodbye to us

There goes my baby there goes my little boy
and I don't know what to do
with my head in my hands as it rains on my shoes
Daddy's got the first day of Kindergaten Blues

It's kills me that I won't be there
to pick him up should he fall
and I won't hear him cry Daddy if he should call
Holding him is Heaven and Hell is letting go
the tears on my parents face now I know

And there goes my baby there goes my little boy
and I don't know what to do
with my head in my hands as it rains on my shoes
Daddy's got the first day of Kindergaten Blues

Yeah ol' Daddy's got the first day of Kindergarten Blues

RICE
Drew's got a full card of b great /b tunes. I add this one here, cause it reminds me of our girls' first days of school. I sent them off armed with no sensitivity to names like Rice Krispies, Rice a Roni, Rice Chex, Uncle Ben's, etc. so that no one could make them cry over their name.

Yrral Malliks Country
Loving it right up.My kind of Country.I can picture Dwight Yoakam singing this.
