Folk ballad leaning towards folk rock

This song is basically about the many forms of animal abuse that occur in or have helped to shaped the British countryside. Be it the horrendous journey and conditions of live exports of veal calves from English ports (especially Dover) to the European continent and other horrific industrial farming methods, such as the farrow crate, to the obscenities and sheer carnage of hunting. The last verse is aimed at a perverse organisation called the Countryside Alliance who believe it is a human right to be allowed to do these things.
Sailing out of Dover on a midnight, darkened sea,
A cargo of the waste of the dairy industry,
The white cliffs turn to crimson red as the bluebirds are shot on sight,
It’s time for changing the countryside

From veal crate to farrow crate, a sow lies in despair,
Her babies can suckle but she can’t turn to show she cares,
Strong men will cry and the pigs will fly when a farmer decides,
It’s time for changing the countryside

A fox is snared so pheasants battery reared can be blown out of the skies
As the accountants count the vast amounts the killing fields will yield,
there's no change for changing the countryside

Run, rabbit, run, here comes farmer with his gun
But don’t stop to rest ‘cause you’re a pest and his fun has just begun
But you’re so good to eat you’re ‘supermeat’ so don’t be taken by surprise,
It’s time for changing the countryside

An otter is snared so pheasants battery reared can be blown out of the skies,
Our noble queen is sometimes seen throttling one for the pot,
These days she’s such a rotten shot

And to the Countryside Alliance I’ve a message for you all,
You might own the land but understand, you do not own the soil
And if you think you’re on the brink of turning back the tide,
Think twice, we’re changing the countryside

We’re changing the countryside
We’re changing the countryside
We’re changing the countryside
We’re changing the countryside
