The songs I write can go any way you want them depending on the singer and musicians (Blues, ballad, rock ballad, country, rock).

IMPORTANT NOTE: This song is a demo and it skips in places... I cannot help this as some data is missing from disc and the only way to fix this is to record it again and I don't have the equipment to do that (sorry).

Anita T. Mayfield (words & music)

I wrote this as a tribute to my grandmother.
Look at her hands and might see old.
The things they’ve felt just can’t be told.
They’ve only known hard work in this ol’ life.
To a restless man, hands of a patient wife.
Sometimes the gentleness washes over you
And though so strong, they could break you in two.
Look again, my friend… Look again.

Look at her eyes and you might see age.
The things they’ve seen would leave you enraged.
So tired and weary and dark from the years
The wisdom is earned, not to mention the fears.
And, yes the innocence was too fast to flee.
Maybe lines of time is all that you see.
Look again, my friend… Look again.

(Break)

Look at her heart and you might see why
Her wings are spread and she’s ready to fly.
You’d think that this ol’ world had left it cold
Take a look inside and you’ll only see gold.
There lies a tenderness only fools could deny.
Put her hand in yours and take her to the sky.
Look again, my friend... Look again, my friend.
