My first guitar song...Of course I cheated as I am too slow at changing chords so I had to stop and start at every chord change..

Music & Lyrics Vincenzo Pandolfi © 2009

This a song I wrote in Texas on a friends guitar, just after helping to build a small patio on a very very hot day...
Sweating in the Texas sun
Swinging a framing hammer
Down at the Jackson ranch
Pounding on a wooden deck

Hoping for the clouds to win
Their cat and mouse game with the sun

Sweating in the Texas sun
Waiting for sundown to come
Then down to the Double D diner
Enduring “There’s a tear in my beer”

Then the waitress finally said
Would you like gravy with that?

And the band kept playing
“There’s a tear in my beer”
And the folks kept singing
And the food kept coming
But my skin was burning
From the Texas sun
When the waitress said
Without moving her lips

Please take me far from here..

Sweating in the Texas sun
Wishing for rain to come
Then down to the Double D diner
For steak, biscuits and tatters
Then the waitress finally said
Would you like gravy with that?

And the band kept playing
“There’s a tear in my beer”
And the folks kept singing
And the food kept coming
But my skin was burning
From the Texas sun
When the waitress said
Without moving her lips

Please take me far from here..
