This is a Hip-Hop song about self awareness, responsibility, analysis and love.

Stoneman wrote, produced and performed everything on this recording.

I was at a Vietnam vets group session and I while listening I came to the conclusion that being in touch with yourself and your feelings was extremely important in regards to healing from the effects of war. The therapist mentioned "Self Examination" and I just had to write a song about it.

Up and down and side to side, I'm not scared to look inside, self examination

I may be just a little bit freaky, I may be just a little bit strange
I may be just little bit out of my head some say I'm a whole lotta deranged
I may be just a little bit angry, I may be just a little bit sad
I may be just a little bit over the top cause of memories so bad
I know that I've been lucky, I know that I've been blessed
I know that I have struggled with all my sins confessed
No matter what they tell me. no matter what they say
I'm proud of everything I have become anyway

I may be just little bit older, I may be just little too fat
I may be on borrowed time because I've lived my life like that
I may be just a little bit guilty, I may be just a little crazy
I may be just a little bit mad at the world cause things were done to me
I know that I've been faithful, to all of my beliefs
I know that I have managed overcoming all my grief
No matter what they call me, no matter who may hate
I'm gonna give myself respect and love anyway

Up and down and side to side, I'm not scared to look inside, self examination

Up and down and side to side, it's time run a check on my soul and my mind
Cause I am not the same one who sinned and did crimes
And I want to rid my heart of hate and any other shit I find
Sometimes you need to check yourself before wreck yourself
And give love to yourself and forgive yourself
I'm only human and I made mistakes
And I'll never underate, All the things I did for hate
But now the word is in and my game is real
And my soul can feel, inner love with zeal
Ain't no drugs flowing in my veins, 37 years I'm clean
No more feeling sad or shame, every time I overcame
The trials and the wiles of the sin temptation
I changed all my friends and associations
But every now and then with anticipation
I open up my soul and do self examinations

Up and down and side to side, I'm not scared to look inside, self examination

Great new track from Stoneman - love the chord progressions and the up front lyrics - outstanding.
