Lyrics, Music written and performed by Tony Copeland
Produced by Felton Pilate at Felstar Studios - Atlanta GA

This song is a result of me ad-libbing at SXSW2013 Austin TX. I was performing at The Brass House and need to sing because I felt that I needed to serve the crowd something a little different than the previous jazz artist who performed before me. So I began to ad lib the words to "Lookin Back" while playing to a backing track. This was March 2013. A few weeks later in April I'm in Felstar recording studios in Atlanta GA being advised by
Grammy Award Winning, co-founder and current member of world renowned R&B group, ConFunkShun and producer of my upcoming "WaterFalls" CD project Felton Pilate to finish writing the lyrics to the song. I did and people seem to really like it.
Lookin Back

Sittin here on Friday, looking back on Sunday, I don't know what went wrong,

Said I'm sittin here on Friday, looking back on Sunday, I don't know what went wrong,

She packed her bags, all I know is my girl is gone,

It was business as usual, take my guitar and go play, called Marjean on the phone, let her know I was going away,

She was so excited yeah, asked me how long I would stay,

I would've told her something different, if I knew what I knew today,

That's why I'm sittin here on Friday, looking back on Sunday, I don't know what went wrong,

That's why I'm sittin here on Friday, looking back on Sunday, I don't know what went wrong,

She done packed up all her bags, all I know my girl is gone,

Guitar solo: 12 bars

She said she wasn't workin,
Said she was retired,
Said she was almost down to nothing,

I knew she was a lie,

I shouldn't be surprised, I can't even be mad,

Cause when she asked me for some money,

I gave her all I had, well,

Said I'm sittin here on Friday, looking back on Sunday, I don't know what went wrong,

Sittin here on Friday, looking back on Sunday, I don't know what went wrong,

She packed up her stuff and mine,

Lord I know my girl is gone.

Guitar Solo: Out
