One summer we were working at Mickey's grandma's shop in the French Quarter. This guy named Ernie Philips came by and we got to talking about our cassette tape we were playing on a small tape deck by the register. Long story short, he said he was a record producer and told us to never give up. A short time later, around 1997, I wrote this song and named it after that guy. I can't find any info on him on the internet, so he was most likely completely full of shit.
