2015 Golden Kayak Nominees!

Producer and musician, Harvey Summers has just released the first single from his forthcoming album, ‘Human’
The record features guest vocalist and songwriter Laura Cole - a rising star in her native Canada who came to Harvey’s attention when she recorded a duet with legendary producer, Daniel Lanois whom Harvey cites as a major influence.
Other musicians on the album include Danny Thompson (who received the ‘virtuoso’ award at this year's prog rock awards), renowned Egyptian percussionist, Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel, Led Zeppelin), Steeleye Span drummer, Liam Genockey and Grammy nominated James McMillan on trumpet among many others.

Skeletons is a quirky, upbeat Motown influenced song with an infectious chorus and of course, Laura's unique killer vocals!

Laura Cole | Vocals
Harvey Summers | Guitars, Vocals, Banjo, Hammond, Percussion, Moog
Chris Chiarcos | Bass
Sacha Trochet | Drums
James Mcmillan | Trumpet
Liam Genockey | Bones

Written during a 2.5 week period in April 2015, during a period of intense creativity, the song was recorded live at Harvey's Broadoak Studios in Sussex, England where he takes great pride in seeking the highest quality and artistic integrity using his eclectic array of classic vintage recording equipment and microphones including his mixing console, a Raindirk Series 3 which was formerly owned by Olympic Studios on London where it mixed classic records by the likes of Queen, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones.
Brand new single 'Skeletons' from Harvey's forthcoming album 'human', featuring Canadian vocalist Laura Cole who co-wrote the song. Laura is a rising star in Canada, with her debut album 'Dirty Cheat' which was released in 2014 following a duet with legendary producer, Daniel Lanois on the song, 'Papineau'. This is where Harvey first heard her and instantly realized she had the perfect voice and talent for 'human', an album he's wanted to make for a long time but hadn't found the right collaborator. Laura has been compared to the likes of Amy Winehouse and Etta James. This track features Laura on vocals, Harvey on vocals, guitar, hammond, banjo and percussion, Chris Chiarcos (who also co-wrote the track) on bass, Sacha Trochet on drums, Liam Genockey on bones and Grammy nominated James McMillan on trumpet.
If I’ve done wrong
I’ll ask for forgiveness
Exactly who I am?
That’s only my business
More than meets the eye
Below the surface
We’re all striving
For some sort of purpose

I’m all yours
If you're all mine
Flood gates are open
Tell me is it divine?

I got passion
And yeah I’m confident
I can live two months
On a single compliment

I am not invincible by any means
I am human, the creator of all machines
I live my life, I make mistakes along the way
I don’t give up, not a sinner not a saint

A bag of bones
I got some skeletons
The past is the past
It’s somewhat irrelevant
I’m flesh and blood
With imagination
A dainty dame
Who never acts out of desperation

I am not invincible by any means
I am human, the creator of all machines
I live my life, I make mistakes along the way
I don’t give up, not a sinner not a saint

Ahumba, Ahumba, etc!

I’m only human.
What do you mean only?
