A positive song that embraces the aging process!

Written by Paul Coates.

Movin` Down The Line

Your winter ways have come and gone, with longer days at last,
That mirror you`ve been holdin` on, better put it in the past
It`s hard to cross a stormy pond when you’re sailin` at half-mast,
So sink that ship and come on board, this train is travelling fast…

And it`s, rockin` in the moment still half-empty
Rollin` in atonement at half-time
Pickin` up the pieces, room for plenty
Feelin` in your prime,.. movin` down the line…

Your childish charms and open arms, cannot serve you now
The mask of shame that took the blame, may never more allow,
And beads of sweat from self regret, ran rivulets from your brow,
That washed away your yesterday, don’t matter anyhow…

The friends you had were just a fad, better leave them at the door,
Those just glad to see you sad, won’t want you anymore,
The whistles blown, the dice is thrown, but no one’s keepin` score,
Your bird has flown the danger-zone, you`ve never known before…

And it`s, rockin` in the moment still half-empty
Rollin` in atonement at half-time
Pickin` up the pieces, room for plenty
Feelin` in your prime,.. movin` down the line…

This station that you’re getting` on, has waited long for you
Was vandalised and set upon, while you were comin` through
It sat for years and watched you pass, although you never knew
So jump on fast it`s haulin` ass, this train is overdue…
