Melody
(Scott Bennett)

I see the city lights cut through the haze
I’m a bag of nerves with open veins

Nothin’ makes you think more than being a passenger
Reflecting through the window, catching up with time

Too many mistakes to organize
Truth is worthless when it follows lies

Dreams don’t age gracefully
I guess I’ll just keep singing 'til they turn out the lights

Melody… Rescue me
Come wash over me tonight
Harmony… Lay on top of me
And tell me everything’s alright

Strike a single note on a baby grand
Vibrations run all the other strings
Every note affects another

Melody… Rescue me
Come wash over me tonight
Harmony… Lay on top of me

Buzz like a honeybee
Burn like a laser beam
Rising up through the steam

Melody… Rescue me
Come wash over me tonight
Harmony… Lay on top of me
And tell me everything’s alright x

Retro Robert's Radio Reviews
I've never heard of Taylor Mills...she certainly has a superstar quality look, a superstar name and a heck of music resumé! But, how does she sound? Let's find out. After loading up "Melody" and enjoying the plucked guitar intro riff, a soft friendly voice pokes a hole through the music and begins the story. "Melody" bounces along unassuming, with thoughtful, patient and deliberate lyrics. The crowded dead-center panned harmony vocals in the chorus are catchy and let Taylor open the pipes. After a couple of listens "Melody" evokes a nice charm and so does Taylor. "Melody" will sit in this station for quite a while.

FAME & GLORY
Mills has spent the better part of ten years in Brian Wilson's band, called by Sir Paul McCartney as "The best touring band in the world. Period." She now returns with the same team that produced "Lullagoodbye" which critics called "a stunning and thrilling pleasure" and "superior sunshine pop/rock." As Mills explains, "Working with Scott Bennett (band mate in Brian Wilson's band, co producer) and Todd Sucherman (Mills' husband, co producer and drummer for the platinum selling STYX) is such a creative joy. It just feels like everything is in the right place and it makes the process of making music exciting and rewarding. Hopefully that spirit is passed along to the listener."

LEGENDARY MUSIC
Big fluffy marshmellow snowflakes falling from the sky greeted me when I woke up this morning and looked out of the window here in the old cabin. Visions of spring only a few weeks away drifted hopefully through my mind. I had one of those 'isn't it wonderful just to be alive' feelings. I took a deep breath and exhaled loudly puffing out my cheeks. A tingling sensation sprinkled up and down the back of my neck and across my shoulders. "Ahh yes", I reminded myself now as that invigorating sensation filled me with a renewed sense of life and hope, "today is the day I promised myself that I would wander over to Taylor Mill's page and treat myself to this legendary touring artist and performer's music". And oh boy, let me tell you what a treat it is, was, and still is for that matter as I'm listening to this exquisitely polished, professional and disciplined singer strut her stuff. Recording and touring the world with legendary Brian Wilson and his band, and working with the greatly talented Scott Bennett and equally accomplished drummer, and husband, Todd Sucherman, makes everything this gifted song-stress touches la crème de la crème of song and music – charming, engaging, alluring, emotional, poignant and sublime. Oh, and yes – Legendary!! Awesome and gorgeous vocals, wonderful lyrics, exceptional music, and not the least surprising – consummate production and arrangement!! "Melody" … the dream plays on and winter slowly turns to beautiful spring. Wonderful feeling!! Wonderful song!! Welcome here Taylor and your legendary crew!!
