This is a strait forward, traditional sounding Blues song. In order to achieve the authentic sound I had to actually play live drums which was really painful due to my ailments but it was well worth the sacrifice. It is about racism and how tired I am of it.

All music and vocals written, produced and performed by Stoneman

This song was originally spawned by my vacation in New Orleans earlier this year. I re-discovered my passion for the Blues while I was there and was inspired to write a blues song. But I wanted it to be true to the original feel and passion of the Blues.

Then, last week I was coming out of the super market and there was a truck parked next to my car that was filled with young men. As I walked toward my car I heard one of them say "look at that old Ni##er". I hate Ni##ers! He made sure that I heard him. Then they all started chanting "We hate Ni##ers" "We Hate Ni##ers". As I got in my car I just looked at them, backed up and drove away. But for the rest of the day I felt really sad and hurt by the incident. I know at my age I should be use to it. But, you never get use to being hated. At least, I never have. Anyway, it occurred to me how tired I am of being hated. That caused me to write this song. That day I really had the "You Hate Me Blues".

Every time I see you, you got a big frown on your face
Every time I see you, you got a big frown on your face
I can see hate coming from you because of my color and my race

Even on the TV, I see your hatred on the news
Even on the TV, I see your hatred on the news
Cause you're beating and killing my folks and claim it's not even police abuse

So tired, tired of the you hate me blues
I'm so tired, so tired of the you hate me blues
Cause there ain't nothing I can do, about the you hate me blues

I can't even walk down the street, with out your hatred in my face
I said I can't even walk down the street, with out your hatred in my face
Cause swastikas, N-words and slurs are written all over the place

Even on the internet, your hatred follows me there
Even on the internet, your hatred follows me there
Cause lies and stereo types are written down every where

So tired, tired of the you hate me blues
I'm so tired, tired of the you hate me blues
Though I ain't done nothing to you, I've still got the you hate me blues

And there ain't nothing I can do about the you hate me blues
And your hatred makes me so Blue I got the you hate me blues
And there ain't nothing I can do about the You hate me blues
