This is a successful collaboration but we chose to display it in our "SHOW ROOM" because it has an element of Rock Opera about it. The first noticeable thing to surprise a listener is the dramatized vocal - BIG but a little scary (purposefully) The lyrics are also a feature so be sure to listen from 'song page' The backing music is competent and doesn't need to be too adventurous but if you listen carefully you'll be delighted with the little extras. You Can't Make This Up
The BIG HOUSE garage is proving popular and this Azwel super-pro production fits right in. Apart from the novelty space-age intro this is a classic indie Rock song. The thing that rises it above the standard is the attention to detail in the production and extras like the hints of Brass. A jolly little melody (reminds me of the band Madness) I'd call it 'Story Pop' and it's certainly an earworm. The song becomes quite full towards the end and the actual end is sudden but perfect. Confidence and experience are the keys to success with Azwel, an artist who never fails to please. Will E Maykit (TBH)

A song of two (or maybe more) halves. Initially a 'shiny' song but with moments of lowered spirit. The way in is through a ring of beautiful guitar plucking - this morphs into a stabbing Rock explosion. The STUDY was thought to be the most appropriate room to listen to this production because it is ripe for analyzing and stripping back the layers - that would be the joy for sure. - Will E Maykit (TBH)

Listening to this instrumental Rock composition is like falling into the open mouth of a heaving volcano. There's no warning before you enter and there's no way to climb out save a total disintegration. If you can imagine being in a war zone, attacked from all sides, above and below by an endless barrage of marauding sound then you'll get this song, but beware, you risk a head explosion. Short, but a block buster of power.

Lovely nostalgic lyrics and some Surf Rock, plus a great middle section guitar featuring. If you're into classic cars, Beach Boys and music with a happy feel then Marty has it all in this track. A great vocal for this kind of song, a natural. Blue Malibu gets a room in the Soft Play area, not because it's soft but because of the sentimental throw back nature of his song - Adeline Moore (TBH)

An incisive if not a little angsty Rock song that hits you between the eyes right from the top. It's like the engine is turned on, the revs are firing and once the gear is engaged the vocal slides in, and what a delight - just enough attitude to stay in control while the vulnerability threatens to surface at any time. An amazing collaboration between 3 Countries I believe, yet it has a freshly pressed studio sound. "The real me" gives us some thought provoking lyrics and we want to stop and consider them... but the song rolls along like a San Francisco trolley bus, riding the hills but heading straight to it's desired destination. This is probably a home production but definitely elevated to STUDIO level, so we placed it in our large Garage Studio here at The Big House. Richard is obvious a fan of the late music artist/producer, Prince, and we hear this coming through clearly. There's an interesting blend of guitars using different and distinct techniques. The song has a happy vibe and indeed you can hear actual instrumental vibes and orchestral sounds filling the space well - The song is really a fusion of new technology and old, classic values - Will E Maykit (TBH)

There should be a warning on this one because it's seriously loud and aggressive. Quite a dramatic presentation from the lead vocal, so right for the style and sentiments of the song. The 4 times repeated hook chorus is memorable. Listen out for the instrumental break, some great drumming and guitar work. The sharp vocal interaction is like a game of tennis with the words slamming aces across the wide Rock court without missing a hit - Will E Maykit (TBH)

OK this is my Son and I'm still pretty amazed at what he has done musically. You just never seem to hear songs like this any more - Oh those sweet chord changes - oh, that big mix with a piano at the heart, the lyrics, the sincerity, the depth. He got me started in this business and now he's almost left it behind which is a real shame... so I'll dust off the cobwebs and bring this lovely song back to the front page where it belongs.

There is a Scottish 'air' about this improvisation. The artist is having piano fun and creating a subtle Folk finger poem - it's like he's playing his mind and has plenty to say. The keys are pressed with such determination, although it seems random, he knows where he's going. A confidently professional sounding song that retains a little of that recognizable indie music glow. You'll find a range of superb elements in Pale Sun - You have the sound of a Soft Rock band but with the addition of orchestral synths it quickly grows into something more special. The lyrics are noteworthy and you feel that you're listening to an intelligent and talented partnership. It's kind of hard to pigeonhole or pin it down genre-wise but I will suggest that if you liked the band Blondie from way back you will love The Maybes. - Adeline Moore (TBH)

Dying Stage
I was wowed by this enigmatic song but it left me feeling like I wanted to study it more as the poetry of the lyrics seemed ambiguous. He explains dying and gives hope for a bright afterlife but was he lying or just confusing us. No matter, the actual musical production is so solid. Slightly 'minor' because of the subject matter I guess, even edgy in the smart sense of the word. Great vocal production, controlled, drear and solemn yet commanding - surround sound guitars and subtle synth effects are handled so professionally. A satisfying elevation at the end - I totally recommend this one - Will E Maykit (TBH)
