After the second album of Cinérex, one of Belgium’s leading electronic bands,
we felt the need to re-invent our musical exploits and build it into a more poppy and song-based environment.

To do so, Kelvin Smits teamed up with Dieter Meeuwis , who does a brilliant job of the songwriting, and Ivy Smits, who was also singing for the likes of Cinerex, Mitsu and the latest Arsenal single called ”Switch”.
Bass and guitar spices are added by Peter Verhelst . The bans is also assisted by Sebastien "Bobo" Kalonji.

Together they have produced an array of tunes that dwell in brash musical contrasts and, occasional contradictions that make their songs as musically complex and exploratory as they are vocally catchy.

To compare these songs is next to impossible, but if pushed, the musical universe of 25th daybreak is one where poetic lyrics drift over scarcely lit music and lush soundscapes show you the way through a labyrinth of electronic beats…

Musical influences reach from the song-oriented deployments of electronics found in Air or Lamb and Postal Service over down tempo and smudgy sounds from the likes of Tricky, to the eighties sounding influences of David Sylvian.
