DogTown refers to Venice CA where we all met at Wayne Peet's Newzone studio many years ago in different sessions and started to play blues and jazz together. We continue to play and record together culminating in our new release DogTown Blues.

This band likes to put a little jazz in their blues and a little blues in their jazz..

The Project overall features some great Socal musicians Like,

Chicago Born Guitarist/Producer Richard Lubovitch aka The Loob. Played as short term replacement side man for many back in the day such as Rufus Thomas, Gatemouth Brown, and others. Also partner and manager of The Track House Recording Studio in Van Nuys CA for 10 years from 1991 until it closed in 2001.Where I performed on many film sound tracks , tv shows and commercials as well as producing many Blues and Jazz recordings.

If you have not heard of Harmonica player Bill Barrett let me guide you to Slow Jam Blues, Night Time ,Pearl’s Blues, Wang Dang Doodle and Groovin .This player is blowin world class harp and recently toured with Wilco guitarist Nels Cline on his Dirty Baby tour and was with Hazmat Modine for many years and his duo Barrett / Donohue and of corse The Bastards of Belleville

The lyrics of Special Guest artist Q. Williams who’s Joe Williams/ Billy Eckstein influenced voice is matched by his lyrics which range from straight up blues as on Lover Blues or Drunkard Blues to hysterically funny as on She was not a girl at all or Ugly Girl Blues. I think you will get a laugh out of these two.

Organ/keyboards/recording engineer Wayne Peet . Owner of Newzone Studio also a frequent Collaborator with Nels Cline and was also on the Dirty Baby Project. Has also worked with such jazz giants as Kenny Burrell and has composed numerous film and television scores.

Drummer Lance Lee played with Diana Ross for many years then was with Kenny G for years and continues to be one of most sought after drummers for studio and touring in LA.

Upright bassist Trevor Ware Kenny Burrell's regular bass player.

Electric bass Tom Lilly played with Lindsey Buckingham back in the day and recently with Beth Hart, Edgar Winter.

One of the worlds great Jazz and blues piano players Tad Weed from Detroit.Played at the Detroit Jazz fest last year 2014 with his trio. Check out his boogie woogie style piano solo on Sexy Man Blues.
