With the spirit of 1977, and their style of hard-driving three chord punk rock ‘n’ roll, Asylum 66 have released their first full-length album, chock full of hook-laden nuggets, “Psycho Zone”.

Asylum 66 arrived on the New York punk rock scene in the mid-1980’s, and quickly gained widespread attention for their “two-minutes + three chords = no frills” approach. While many a band have subscribed to the “less is more” ethic, Asylum 66 seem defiant in proving that a minimalist approach does NOT have to come at the sacrifice of true hit-writing abilities and refined musical chops.

Asylum 66 attacks like a locomotive thanks to the steady, driving backbeat of drummer Jerry, the melodic, thick tones of Anthony’s Fender Precision assault, and Jeff’s 1964 Mosrite and wall of Marshall stacks with the volume knobs glued down at “10”! Combine these attributes with vocalist Bobby Slash’s guttural, nasal drone, and demented comic book/horror movie/rubber room inspired lyrics…Asylum 66 kicks into gear with a pure, blistering sound that hasn’t been heard since the very early days of the New York punk rock underground at CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City.

Asylum 66 are gearing up for a very busy 2006. After completing the new CD “PsychoZone”, Asylum 66 kept busy entertaining crowds on tour with the Chiller Theatre Convention, as well as at many self-promoted gigs in the New York and New Jersey area. In the previous year, our boys had their songs appear in 2 motion picture releases including “PsycheBlow”, which will be the title song from the film directed by B-Movie master Gerald Slota. Touring, television appearances and radio interviews are already booked, and writing has already begun on the next Asylum 66 album, set to be recorded just in time for the summer of 2006.
