Bruce Paine’s music career began not as a composer but as a concert guitarist. Inspiration came through appreciation of many musical styles and the work of contemporary guitar composers, most notably the virtuoso Štěpán Rak of the Czech Republic with whom Bruce has shared the stage. This association strengthened a fascination for composing and in 2007 he set about writing his first guitar compositions including Finchdean, a piece now popular with student and professional players alike. His music covers diverse themes such as New Zealand landscape and kinetic art sculptures, providing unique listening and guitar playing experiences.

	Echoes of India - Seringapatam This piece for solo classical guitar is a musical tribute to Seringapatam, a town in the Mandya district of the Indian state of Karnataka and place of great religious, cultural and historic significance. Performed in this recording by the composer, Auckland classical guitarist Bruce Paine.
