Before his debut album CHEROKEE MOON gained publicity by various record reviews, including the German ROLLING STONE magazine (January '97), Chris Deschner has been renowned primarily as a session guitarist in Berlin's local music club scene. His versatility of styles has made him a perfect sideman on many occasions. He is regarded by many musician collegues as being very spontaneous and solid, as well as being a perfectionist in the studio. Since his recording debut in 1976 he has continued to be part of other artists album projects, when he was asked to help out. Dissatisfied with the locally determined musical direction Chris made a move towards the US in the early 90s, in order to meet some of his favorite musicians in Nashville, Tennessee and to play some of the music, which he enjoys the most. The result was the critically acclaimed CHEROKEE MOON master, which paved the way to his first officially released solo debut, and which is designed to qualify him as a singer and writer of songs, as well as a free-lance arranger and producer.
