Cleptoz collaborated and stormed onto the Indianapolis muzik scene in 2001 with original crowd favorites like “Its About 2 Go Down,” “All Along I Knew,” and “Right Now” Drawing heavy influence from Outkast, Beastie Boys, and a Tribe Called Quest, Cleptoz have managed to gain the attention and respect from all types of music lovers and party-goers alike. After completing the group with the much needed addition of DJ Orion (Radio Now 93.1) in the spring of 2005, Cleptoz (Hum.V, Dizzy, and B.C) have been sharpening their songwriting abilities and perfecting every element of their live show. By doing so, they have amassed a large and faithful fan base throughout the entire Midwest. Along with steady radio rotation in Indianapolis and surrounding areas, the Cleptoz’ tour schedule has allowed them to gain some national exposure by playing venues in some larger cities such as Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Bloomington, IN, Louisville, KY, Champaign, IL, and even airplay in Las Vegas, NV. However, nothing compares to being chosen to represent their home city by opening up for many big name national recording artists such as Kanye West, Twista (x2), Common, The Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghoastface Killah, The Roots, Jurassic 5, Rhymefest, Dem Franchize Boyz, DJ Qbert, and The X-ecutioners. After 3 years of hard work, it all came together in April of 2005 with the release of their debut album entitled, “Thick as Thieves” featuring the hit single “Right Now”. This 19 track ‘autobiography’ captured everything from Hum.V’s extreme personality and contagious flow, to Dizzy’s witty wordplay and insightful lyrics, to B.C.’s smooth conversational rap style. Produced by some of Naptown’s top Producers George Johnson and Animal House Prod., “Thick as Thieves” demonstrated Cleptoz not only had the charisma to rock a crowd, but they also came equipped with the gift of smart, catchy song writing. The songs featured on this site are sample trax off the upcoming album "Back At It" set to be released this summer.
