Welcome to the Contemplating Waves band page on Indie Music People. We are:

Russ Foreman and Larree Hollywood. Russ and Larree have been creating music together since the 1970s. They started out as an acoustic duo, and later played together in the bands Tulpa, We (with singer/songwriter Peri Traynor), and Inhabitants of the Western Wasteland.

Contemplating Waves history: In the Spring of 2021 Russ invited Larree to join a new band with him and his old drummer, Chuck Hippert, and together they laid down the foundation for the band. Russ decided to call the first jam they recorded Contemplating Waves because it was spacey and meditative. Larree dug the name so much he suggested it as a band name just so they could be a band with a theme song, like Iron Butterfly or The Monkees, and Russ and Chuck agreed. Chuck left the band after about 18 months, and Russ and Larree decided to keep going as a duo.

Russ and Larree are currently recording a new Contemplating Waves album scheduled for 2026 release.
