Crooks' lyric-driven and soul-wise music has drawn comparison to Lucinda Williams and Natalie Merchant. Deborah has had her tunes included on compilation Cds and appeared at many festivals and events including Sunset Junction (LA), Harmony Festival (Santa Rosa) and California Music Fest (Ventura). In late 2008, she released a full-length Cd "Adding Water to the Ashes " featuring a cast of great Bay Area talent that's received rave reviews and national radio airplay. She just recorded a 5-song blues-based acoustic EP w/Alex Walsh.
