Double D was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. Joined the Army as a M1A2 Armor Crewman in Late 2001, and was stationed at Fort Hood, TX where he got involved in the Texas battle seen at club Axxess. He was working on an album entitled Visionary, when the production phase of the album was cut short by his deployment to Iraq in March 2003. While in Iraq, the sessions for the first album were lost forever. He came back from Iraq and got out of the Army and left to go to school for Recording Arts at Full Sail Real World Education. Survival of the Realest, his newest project, is currently in the Post Production phase, and the next album War Paint has already entered production.
When asked about Ghetto Tearz Productions, Double D stated ""Ghetto Tearz Productions is so much more than a record label, its a movement. We're not just out here recording hot songs, we're trying to change the way people do business and put the creative aspect of the music back into the hands of the Artists and Producers. That's why I chose to call this album Survival of the Realest, because Ghetto Tearz Productions allows the truest form of music to be presented, without the commercial influence.""
Survival of the Realest is the first of many releases from Ghetto Tearz Productions, and as of yet the details of where you can get copies of the album are still unclear, but if you stay current with this site we will keep you updated. Double D and Chief (Ghetto Tearz Productions main producer for the War Paint Album) have been hesitant to give out much information about the War Paint album, but as it progresses, I am sure they will release more details.

This song is a first and account of Double D's time in Iraq as well as a commentary on how the war is handled at home. This is one man's opinion and should not be taken as the position of the United States Army or the United States in general. Never Forget Those We Lost.
