Thomas Graham, Safwan Allah, and DJ Beathoven come together to form the Los Angeles based hip hop trio Fridays Drive. Known for their engaging shows and thought provoking lyrics Fridays drive carries on their tradition with an organic, fresh sound that captivates listeners with their many influences ranging from hip hop, soul, reggae, rock and R&B.
Fridays Drive first began in 2000 while touring and performing under the name Fertile Soil. They began to make a name for themselves performing at local venue’s and clubs and in 2002 began a west coast college tour and began performing in record stores, college radio stations, campus events and club venue’s through out Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.
In addition to their talents and experience performing live Fridays Drive released three independent albums, and a numerous amount of compilations with all band members contributing to production, engineering and song arrangement and
also incorporating live instruments during their live performance’s setting them apart from the typical hip hop acts. Fridays Drive has also made several radio appearances on 90.7 Divine Forces Radio, UC Irvine, UNM Campus station, Hip-Hop Culture@ Florida International University and have also made small cameo appearances in a variety of television programs and in 2001 appeared in Cody Chestnutt’s “ Look good in leather”. They have also been commonly compared to vocal styling of innovative groups such as Black Star, De La Soul, Pharcyde, Digable Planet’s, and the Roots due to their energetic shows and charismatic performances you can easily tell Fridays Drive is no stranger to the stage.
