K A S T A D Y N E

Kastadyne is basically the writer-composer duo of Sheldon Fonseca and Tejas Narayan (TJ). Sheldon is the lead vocal and lyricist and TJ is the bassist and composer on their album. The band works out of Tejas's professional studio lovingly nicknamed, Studio B. For the past 4 years, Kastadyne has been searching for their unique sound. Their debut album was a direct result of their searching.

The album, called Eleven Complaints, got a lot of critical acclaim. The word on the street is that Kastadyne is an 'original', 'new-age' and 'un-metal' band.

The first song of the album, Victim of my Anger, was ranked at no.1 on www.soundclick.com out of 113,000 songs world-wide in the alternative rock category. To many Kastadyne fans, this anthem of personal anguish marks the distinct sound and feel of the band itself. With the popularity of this song, the band has just completed a music video for it - shot in the lush hills of Pune.

Apart from a huge album launch they were also interviewed on Radio City, Radio Mirchi, Rainbow FM with Mihir Joshi, Indian Express, Mid-Day Metro and shortly on RAVE Magazine. One of the hidden secrets behind the success of the album was the fact that it was mastered in Germany by a company called XARC, which masters music from all around the world.

Kastadyne has also composed a song ('I miss yesterday') for an online game, Dance Mela. After the band's interview at Radio Mirchi, they were asked to compose a song for Independence Day by popular RJ Jeeturaj. Kastadyne came up with the hit song Forget the Government (Live as India) - a free download from their website.

Sheldon and TJ spend most of the week in Studio B composing and writing but use only Sundays to record, since most of the recordings take up to 8 hour sessions. Kastadyne has already gone back into StudioB to start work on their second album.
