MYNERA hails out of the underestimated town of Kansas City, Missouri, underestimated because there are so many talented bands in the area. MYNERA consists of Bryan Harrison (Vocals), Daniel Reid (Guitar), Dan Zielinski (Guitar), Mike McNally (bass/vocals), Scott Curts (Keys) and Clinton Nichols (Drums). With the intention to bring a sound that will entertain both sexes with their music, MYNERA tries to bridge the gap between catchy hook driven melodies and the double bass driven crunchy harmonies that give a little something to everyone. To be palatable to almost any rock fan is their goal. With a genuine appreciation for their fans, MYNERA aims to establish themselves in the Kansas City scene and show everyone what they are all about... emotional melodies, hard hitting drums, heartfelt vocals, brutal back ups, accentuating keys, and music that pounds you in the face then gives you a big sloppy kiss afterwards.
MYNERA began to take it's shape through the two guitarists Dan Reid, who adds a melodic/grunge style of writing, and Dan Zielinski, who helps round out with a bluesy, early days of metal feel. They and singer Bryan Harrison provide the solid foundation of the band. Add drummer Clinton Nichols, whose metal cred made a strong influence to that foundation, bassist/screamer Mike McNally, who brutalizes the mike when necessary, and throw in the keyboards of Scott Curts and you have MYNERA.
After months of finding all the right members and finally sealing the bond that is MYNERA, the band (knowing it was probably too soon to do so, but were itching so bad from the .live performance bug. they had received from experience in prior bands) decided it was time to play out. Playing only 2 shows, Guitarist Dan Zielinski decided to secretly enter them into Kansas City.s most well known battle of the bands, Club Wars. With the belief that they wouldn.t make it too far in the competition and soon be back to practicing and writing more material, MYNERA surprised themselves by winning the first round of the battle. Going on to also win the second round, they found themselves in the finals. Taking second place in the final by one point, MYNERA felt a sense of accomplishment playing their 5th show in front of a crowd of 800+ screaming and crowd surfing attendees, a large majority of who had never even heard of the band.
With nothing to hand any of their fans other then T-Shirts, the band then took time off to record and release their first CD .Shut The Light., to be out May 12th 2007. From there, the band will just play it by ear and continue to write and perform music for anyone willing to listen. Hoping that they have made a product that can be enjoyed by all fans of the vast rock genre, MYNERA will continue to write and perform for their fans until they stop listening. They are happy that they have given them the opportunity to make their mark.
