Natalie Valentine has been scribbling and singing since the school yard, and has had a ball on the way. Jazz bands, rock bands, boys, dancing, and more jazz bands defined her teens, but the novelty of being in a group wore off and she decided to go it alone. A chance meeting with a Mr B in an undisclosed North London boozer in 2002 marked the beginning of a friendship and a writing partnership. Together they wrote and discarded, and wrote and discarded, until they had a collection of songs that didn’t pertain to any particular genre, songs that just reflected their moods and how much red wine they had drunk. Personal lyrics, emotive vocals and distinctive melodies; their songs feel good, feel listenable yet unique. ”Each track is lovingly textured, layered with strings and guitars held together with genuine passion. These songs were written to melt the coldest hearts” theplasticashtray.tk Always bringing glamour and a presence to the stage, Natalie’s bold vocals and intimate performances have been captivating London audiences over the past year. Having worked with artists like Bryan Ferry, Boo Hewerdine, Billy Bragg and Eileen Rose, this outfit hope to make real waves in 2006.
Natalie Valentine hails from the North, loves stilettos and lips, and was named after the actress Natalie Wood. Mr B grew up in the country, has big feet and large thumb nails, and loves Beppe Maniglia.
