Nina has been a professional jazz pianist and vocalist around L.A. since the mid-1980's. While pursuing her B.A. in Music at New York's CCNY in the late '70's, she had the good fortune to study with the famed late John Lewis of the Modern Jazz Quartet; she has also studied with jazz piano greats Don Friedman, Milcho Leviev, and Terry Trotter. Nina performs with her own "All Key'd Up" groups as well as other combos, and counts jazz/blues legend Ernie Andrews as well as Leslie Baker, Carol Chaikin, Andy Cowan, Doug MacDonald, Kim Richmond, Richard Simon, and Scott Whitfield among her credits. Her playing and singing style have been likened to Diana Krall, Kenny Barron, and Marian McPartland. Nina possesses absolute pitch, enabling her to play along in nearly "real time" with many songs she has never heard, and write quick chord charts. A published songwriter and member of BMI who studied privately with the late songwriting giant Jack Segal (When Sunny Gets Blue, Scarlet Ribbons, etc.), Nina has a wide variety of well-crafted original songs in many genres. The song (2 versions) on this site is one of over a dozen songs co-written over the past 9 years with professional drummer/singer/guitarist and published songwriter Joe Barile, with whom she also performs, and along with some of their others, is showcased on gigs. Joe's rich melodies and harmonies summon forth an abundance of lyrical ideas, making the creative process even more fulfilling.

Right now, the song is apparently not able to be listened to - this is sad! I've asked IAC Music, who has told me there is some problem with the site, to help get it re-uploaded, because I am "weak" in the area of working with song files - I really don't understand the concept, I think I have too many musical notes and chords in my head (800 songs in any key without music!), and my husband is very busy with a full-time job and a part-time business these days, and it could be months before we can get the song re-uploaded. It's now March 23 - maybe by May sometime, we could get to it, but meanwhile, hope IAC Music'll help me.

Nina,

Very professional and worthy addition to your musical genre. Even the proverbial cynic would be hard pressed to not feel the love after giving this a listen.

Andy
