POLARIS is an innovative band from the Southern California area with a desire to bring back the significance of the lead guitar and complex song writing. With dynamic vocal passages, winding guitar melodies, seamless bass lines, and high energy percussion this band has created a sound that can only be described as truly unique for these times.
They were recently selected as one of the top 16 bands/artists from the western states by Disc Makers Independent Music World Series in January 2005 out of 1,000 entrants. The judges were A&R reps from TAXI.
POLARIS was also chosen by a board of music professionals from Ernie Ball to play on the Van's Warped Tour at Cal State Long Beach on July 11, 2003. This was an amazing accomplishment for a new band, edging out 2,600 entrants.
Polaris consists of:
RANDY RAMIREZ, a remarkably gifted guitarist is also the lead vocalist of the band. Randy composes most of the music for the band and oversees each and every note that is recorded.
ROCKY RAMIREZ is the heartbeat of the band. Rock has been schooled in many styles of drumming to include rock, marching, latin, jazz and percussion and always gives an outstanding performance.
ROLAND MANIAGO can be found on the bass. Being known as the quiet one, Roland just focuses on every note that extrudes from his bass.
STEVE GOODWIN is on lead guitar 2 and background vocals. Steve has added a lot of style to the band which is evident in their recording as well as live performances.
