Rashid Fanine is a Russian-born guitarist who combines technical brilliance with an exceptional talent for improvisation. His music style has been influenced by the classical tradition and by ethnic and contemporary sources. His powerful and original compositions reflect his diverse cultural background.

Rashid was born in the Ural mountains but later moved to Saint Petersburg where he played in clubs with some of Russia's best contemporary musicians. In 1996 he moved to Western Europe where he played in music festivals in Germany and France. In 2000 Rashid emigrated to Canada and now lives in Victoria,BC
