If we didn’t know any better we’d say Something Worth Saving came together by fate. After climbing through Oshawa’s stock pile of GM cars and mullets, SWS emerged onto the scene in January of 2008. SWS contain five highly energetic punk rock metal heads with one common goal: to rock stages, melt faces, then go home to sleep and do it all over again the next day. With four singers (three of us guitarists) Something Worth Saving has stepped outside of the box with a big sound and an even bigger live show that guarantees to give you the uncontrollable urge to raise up…the metal horns.
Starting from stage left, Trent Mood lays down one of the four vocals and provides rhythm and lead sections that draw characteristics from the likes of James Hetfield and Eddie Van Halen. Adam Bell belts out powerhouse vocals and more then above average bass lines that stand apart from the already rockin rhythm section. From center stage Tyler Christie’s blood curdling screams will send shivers up your spine, while his rhythm and lead guitar licks constantly compliment the songs. Trevor Smith implements melodic vocal harmonies and ear catching rhythm guitar; making sure the listener is always paying attention. Then the quarterback to complete this complex five piece arrangement is Ryan Arsenault on the drums. Combining modern punk rock/skid style drumming with fast rolls, complex fills and metal hammering double bass that ensure the audience will be left begging for more.
Now being officially titled under the banner of Something Worth Saving. Their years of experience, together, have allowed the band to mature as musicians and friends. After recording their EP “Empty Streets In Empty Cities” in 2008,SWS shortly jumped back into the studio for their debut self titled album that is set to release in the Summer of 2009. This combination of friendship and passion for music has made Something Worth Saving truly, something worth saving.
