Grey, is a self-taught Hip Hop Artist. His journey through Hip Hop was inspired at a young age being an only child growing up in the poverty-stricken Southside of Indianapolis. Pencil and paper were the only way he could truly express himself.
In high school, his passion for music grew, when he received a copy of Radiohead’s Ok Computer. It unlocked a barrier in his mind pushing him to search out different and more diverse ways of expression through music. Engulfed in the infinite possibilities, he recorded a group project (Parasite/1999), a solo project (AquaPhoniex/2002) and started to really learn the in’s and outs of the music business.
Grey achieved notable support from the Indy Hip Hop scene for having high-energy live shows with creative concepts. And, with the help of Midwest Artist and well known DJs like DJ Top Speed, Joe Harvey (Twilight Sentinels), and Rusty (Mudkids) he was able to reach an even larger audience. The one major hurdle in Grey’s path, was finding management to open doors to even more listeners. However, with the Internet music explosion and DJs now using Serato the stage is now open to more diverse forms of musical talent. “The gates are gone and people are ready to embrace a new sound,” Grey states.
