Travis Marc started drumming, while still a teenager, during high school. After taking a few drum lessons with a local drum tutor. Travis joined his first band, ""Feedback"" which broke up after a year. During this time, Travis left regular school to pursue his studies in music, and graduated from the National School of the Arts, in 2002, winning various music awards, including the “best songwriter” , and ""best drummer award"" in his final year. (In addition to his musical studies at The NSA, Travis has also had private tuition through drum legends such as Georg Voros and Rob Watson) Travis then decided to put his own band together, called ""Pyramid Tongue"". Within two years from it's original inclination, ""Pyramid Tongue was signed to one of the biggest Indie Labels in South Africa. The band reached No 1 on the Modern Rock Chart, on 5FM, with their second single ""Sterilizing Agony"" and followed the single up, with major hits such as ""Get out of my Head"", and ""Tender Lovin Abuse"". Shortly after, the band ventured onto it's first European tour, performing in a variety of countries in and around the UK. In Travis' mind however, the Buzz of the international music scene was too inviting not to stick around, and therefore he decided to leave the band, by the end of the tour, to continue his music venture in London. A few months, and a few dodgy auditions later, and Travis found himself in a new band called ""Plastic Dreams"" In order to build a decent following, ""Plastic Dreams"" toured various UK countries extensively, and eventually landed signing a major deal with Manifesto/Universal Records, as well as landing on the UK Billboard charts at No 8, with their first single ""Fuse"". By late 2005 however, various situations surrounding the band, forced its demise, and Travis headed back home to plan his next step. Travis then decided to give the band scene a short break, and decided to rather, hire himself out as a session musician for other acts, before starting his next project. He has since sessioned , as both a recording artist, and a live drummer/musician for a number of bands, including, popular South African acts such as ""1st Project"", ""Voodoo Child"", ""Lonehill Estate"", ""The Waiting Room"" and ""Walt"". During these sessions, Travis reunited, with his brother, and ex ""Pyramid Tongue"" bassist, Darryl to form a new original band called ""Munkinpure"". The bands genre mix of Indie/Pop meets Acoustic/Rock, proved extremely popular among fans and music critics, and their first single charted at no 1 on UJ Fm, as well as No 11 on Red Cap Radio. In addition to ""Munkinpure"", Travis also performs fulltime with popular drumming act, ""iGrooves"". A drumming band with branches in South Africa and London, which focuses mainly on team building, and product launches for various business, and corporate functions. At present “iGrooves” have performed for, (among others) Fnb Bank, Nokia, Vodacom, MtN, Peroni, Samsung, Standard Bank and Steers.
