Dave Anderson's debut album 'Wish It All Away' is poised to win the hearts of a wider audience, with radio friendly harmonies, that surround his emotionally honest and confessional lyrics.
The opening track 'Sing Me A Song (Something I Can Sing Along To)' emphatically introduces Anderson's methodology, that he will be honest to himself before pleasing anyone else. A stab at the Sydney covers scene.
The more upbeat offerings of 'Love is Fairytale', 'Last Day in London', 'Simple Pleasures' and 'Write You Away' open the album, which reveals a darker underbelly as each song passes.
The heartbreaking 'Who Am I To Decide' with the chanting chorus 'Standing here with you, feeling confused, grasping your heart and break it in two' signals a clear transition in the album.
The opening of 'When Life Turns Grey' features Anderson's warm voice clearly broken under the weight of emotion with 'Love is Gone' a simple tale of a broken heart.
The album is rounded out with Anderson alone on guitar with the apologetic 'Finding it Hard' and on piano for the departing 'Promise I Made'.
