Forming out of several well-known Athens, GA bands in March, 2007, Parasite Shoes has quickly gained local and regional recognition for their ability to maintain melodic sensibilities within heavy music, make progressive changes more accessible, deliver pop-hooks without being cheesy, interlace dark themes with a sense of humor, and throw in the occasional odd time signature without requiring the listener to pull out an abacus. Their collective musicianship alone would've been enough to captivate listeners (as can be seen in a recent live video posted on Youtube.com), but they have also displayed a penchant for the all-too-often overlooked art of songwriting, as can be heard in the rough mixes of their recently begun debut EP.
