Just Above Jealous is the product of former Fiasco punk drummer who also plays acoustic folk guitar, a jazz pianist who sings in the choir, a violin player turned funk driven bassist, and a funk, grunge, classic rock, psychedelic (you get the picture) guitarist. Their style hits just about every end of the music library. They all met at different points in early 2007. Sam and Ian lived in the same dorm, and Sam met Zach through MIOX records, which they both are signed as solo artists on the label. The guys picked up Dylan somewhere and the rest goes from there. Formed in late September 2007 in Oxford, Ohio, Just Above Jealous quickly played several shows close to home, including battle of the bands, several frat parties, and the occasional impromptu show in their practice space. Little did they know 6 months later they would be traveling around Ohio and playing Oxford’s biggest parties. Playing originals that range from their funk driven “Take A Break” to their crowd favorite “Six”, JAJ has something to offer everyone.
