The Boasting Weak is an eclectic mingling of jazz, rock, folk and dramatic musical styles. Influenced by a little bit of everything, they make music that they like, regardless of what the radio stations like. :-)
Mary Beth Dragoun grew up in Lenoir City, TN, and sang regularly at church. In college she performed concerts in the Tennessee and Georgia areas, and was a worship leader for youth camps. She is professionally trained in opera, but chooses to rebel vocally from that style and rock it out.
Jared Dragoun grew up in Bakersfield, CA, and also played music regularly at church. He has been involved in worship leading for many years. Jared took classical piano lessons for 10 years, forgot how to play, and now plays in a style that has no explanation.
Jared and Mary Beth met at Middle Tennessee State University (Murfreesboro, TN) in 2000, got married in 2002, and have procrastinated making their first record together until now in 2008.
Regardless of your musical preference, the Boasting Weak feels confident you’ll dig something on the self-titled, debut project: the Boasting Weak.
