Ladies and gentleman, brothers and sisters, introducing - Richard Hollis.
On his debut project, with True Light Music Ministries and True Light Recordings entitled ""Brand New Start"", Richard not only wrote all 13 songs, but also collaborated with some of the industry’s biggest producers, including Anthony Myers (songs placed on soundrtrack of Monique's major motion picture ""Phat Girls"" & Big Fish Audio's ""Off The Hook"" Volumes) and Marcus “DL” Siskind of Mass Appeal Entertainment (Backstreet Boys, Lauryn Hill and Queen Latifah), to name a few. From the title track and first released single ""Brand New Start"" to the soul- stirring ""What More Can I Do"", Hollis presents a blueprint for redemption, forgiveness and salvation for his listeners, but also delivers his own personal testimony.
Before entering the Gospel arena, Richard was making quite a few waves in the R&B market as a member of the group Treble. While on a business trip in Manhattan that ended with a tentative offer for a recording contract, the Lord began to deal with his heart. A voice in his head was saying, ""YOUR WILL IS NOT MY WILL, YOUR WAY IS NOT MY WAY!"" That night, Hollis walked the streets of Manhattan, alone, with a heaviness over his heart. As he walked, he decided to listen to a CD that he had been given earlier that day at a music conference. Little did he know that the song Coming Back Home, recorded by BeBe Winans, Joe and Brian McKnight would mark a major turning point in his life forever.
""I began to cry and I didn't know why I was crying. The front of my shirt was soaked in tears. God was using the very thing that pulled me away from Him, to draw me back to Him, the music. That following Sunday I gave my life to God and it was the best decision I've ever made. See I had been around the church and in the church all my life, but the church was never in me. I knew of Jesus, but I never knew Him! Oh, but that Sunday morning when I surrendered and Jesus entered my heart! My life wasn't and will never be the same again. Now it's time for me to give back of what He has entrusted unto me”, recalls Hollis.
