Steven S. Billings is trained both musically and theologically so his songs have strength in both areas. Before serving as a Pastor for more than 20 years he worked in the recording industry, writing, arranging, orchestrating, conducting and producing commercial advertising music. His work displays a talent for diversity of musical styles done well, a strong and versatile singing voice, and songs that impact the listener musically and lyrically in ways that have not often been done before. Steve's musical influences include Bob Hartman and Petra, Nancy Honeytree, Bryan Duncan and Sweet Comfort Band, Bob Carlisle and Allies, PFR, Ron Dante, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Three Dog Night, 10cc and Queen.
Adult contemporary with a Christian world view, Steve's songs deal with real life in an honest, transparent way. Styles include a little bit of everything, from rock & roll to R&B to Gospel to country. Often uplifting, often challenging, his music offers a fresh voice to everyday issues.
Steve's first solo CD entitled "The Journey Home" was released in 2007. Most of the songs on his CD enjoyed broadcast time throughout the country, especially "T.G.I.F." and "The Spirit In You." "T.G.I.F." was reported to have garnered numerous requests for airplay on a nationally syndicated radio program.
His second CD entitled "Old Luggage" is expected to be released soon through Tate Music Group.
