Seags has had one version or another of the Flying Heroes on the road since the 70s and the band is still going strong. His roots have been firmly planted in British Rock since day one, the older material still being played alongside newer songs. Among his influences, however, are all kinds of music and his solo acoustic material (under the name of Voodoo Sun) plays a large part in his musical life too. The songs featured on this site are taken from both of these projects and so range from Rock to Folk.

NEWS

Mon March 21st

Guitarworks...welcome to another new recruit

Dale will be joining the Guitarworks ranks as from Saturday 26th March.

Fri March 18th

Guitarworks Studio Shenanigans

We will be holding the Guitarworks 'Great Gig In The Garden' in June...probably sunday 26th. All students/famillies/(+a few friends) will be invited and if you're a student and wish to perform a number or two just give us a shout at the next lesson. Heros II (Amy drums, Frankie bass and yours truly on guitar) will be doing their first live performance and it's hoped that several of you will be doing a spot, too! More details as they become available.

Flying Heroes 'Aerodrome' now No. 21 in the AiiRadio.net chart...From No.1 down to 31 and back up to 18 on Bandsunsigned.co.uk...And down (eek!!) to 12 on UKBans.net.

Wed March 16th

Flying Heroes/Voodoo Sun around the web.

Flying Heroes featured on the front page of Mixposure in the 'What's Hot' panel with 'Velvetine Showgirl' (Voodoo Sun track).
Flying Heroes at No. 11 in the UKBands chart ...oops, down from 10...please vote ;-)...(see bottom of home page)
Voodoo Sun at No. 37 in UKBands chart ...bit of a leg up anyone? (as above)
Flying Heroes new entry at No. 24 in the AiiRadio.net chart with 'Aerodrome' (you'll vote for us over there too, if my dreams come true!)
Also, Simon at Gojangle radio has very kindly updated our Flying Heroes tracks...they are now same order as our set list so if you really wanna know what to expect if you come and see us just click the link! (Voodoo Sun also featured on Gojangle)

Pat is not to blame ! Okay, I've been rumbled...You may (or may not...as if!) have noticed that the drumming on newer Flying Heroes recordings such as 'Aerodrome' has a, shall we say, 'free' quality and some of you have been frank enough to enquire as to the origins of said 'freedom' (freedom from traditional drumming skills, that is.) Well, let's just say that during the formation of the new set/writing of the new material, the band consisted of, you've guessed it...Seags. So these are all solo BOSS BR-1180CD/Yamaha DD55 recordings...pre reformation of the band. I guess me and the DD55 are to blame then, although I do wish I'd had the use of the new bass drum peddle arrangement that I now use for recording (made possible by the kind donation of one of Patt's old pedals...see pic.)

Pat would like to point out that he wouldn't be at all happy about using such a Mickey Mouse piece of kit and insists on sticking to his rather gorgeous zebra skin ensemble. And I must say, it's great to have an actual drummer on board the Flying Heroes bus again!

When one of us wins the lottery (which seems a tad unlikely as I don't think any of us has ever bought a ticket) we'll get right back in the studio and re-record a load of stuff. Till then, people, I hope you can turn a blind ear!

Tues March 8th

Flying Heroes rehearsals are going great. Andy's got his new Twin Reverb to cuddle and Pat's found some sticks that don't fall to pieces...it's all good. All we've gotta do is make sure we're ready in time to fit in a couple of gigs before Andy goes atourin' with FISH...ARGHHH!!! But yes, he'll be back.

Heroes II also coming along a treat. Amy and Frankie are fine...it's just me! Nah, we'll be ready soon and we're also talking of doing an acoustic set a la...

Voodoo Sunn A maybe solo spot coming up in May...acoustic mix of Heroes/Voodoo...could be a new direction...we'll see..Also, as mentioned above, Frankie and Amy may be joining the Voodoo ranks, too. Could be one for Vagabonds...roll on summer!

Yours truly is now performing reviewing duties at MiXposure as well as UKBands...loads of great stuff going on at both. Maybe you should go take a look see.
