2008 was a great year. I released by first song to radio in the USA called YOU WOULDNT LIE TO AN ANGEL WOULD YA??? and it went to the top of the new music weekly charts promoted by the fabulous Paul Loggins!!! A second song was rteleased called NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND which did equally as well leading to being nominated and on the final ballott for new country artist of the year. The ceremony was held in hollywood California on Nov 22 2008 and I had a wonderful time!. Check it out!!! Well lets see where do I begin to tell you about myself...... I was born in Brantford Ontario Canada in the same room as ""the great one"" N.H.L. hockey star WAYNE GRETSKY!!! So... I guess I,m the"" great one"" number two!!! LOL!! I,m just being funny!!! I had 5 sisters so there was lots of fights when I was growing up and occasionally we still have the odd tiff... my one brother ran away to join the army just to escape us girls!! I was gifted with most of the artistic talents starting with art ... drawing, painting, sculpture,etc and won a art schlarship in high school to attend art college. Then the airlines called and I quit college in pursuit of fun and travel as a stewardess !!! My first time in an airplane was as a ""stew"" and I had a nervous passenger on their first flight that asked me ""what will it be like??' I was so honest I said I didnt know cause it was my first time too!! But through all this, my big love was singing but I was just so darn shy!!... I didnt want people to think I was showing off, so I didnt sing publically til 4 years ago at a karaoke bar. That led to a radio sponsered competition and the making of a debut cd . That cd did well on secondary radio and award nominations in Europe including song of the year, top artist, top female vocalist, future star....www.europeancma.com click on awards 2006. I loved being on stage so much that its difficult to get me off!!! Soon it was time to start cd number two. Release of my second cd NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND was in the summer 2007 and was nominated for album of the year 8 weeks later! Also my band is coming together quickly THE JUDY KANYO BAND . Also I performed at the annual radio seminar at the Nashville Convention Centre on Mar 4, 5, and 6 2008 with HMV Records. That was fun in Nashville!!! I,m hoping to do a lot more performances there if the angels see fit to arrange it for me.
