Post Society became a group in December of 2008 when the members of After Ashes, Eddie, Ethan and Ian, joined forces with Jonny. They immediately began writing songs that would eventually become the final tracks for their self-titled EP recorded at SpitShine Studios in Austin TX and released in August 2009.

Their influences range from 1960s rock (Led Zepplin, The Who) to 1980s Hardcore Punk (The Casualties, Black Flag) to Modern Day Punk (Flogging Molly, Rise Against).

Since the release of their self-titled EP, their tracks have been played on multiple online venues such as Broadjam, MySpace, and IAC. Beginning with the first week in September 2009, Post Society was charted #1 in the Top 100 Punk bands for MP3 AU (Australia) for 3 straight weeks.

Currently, all band members are sophomores at Westwood High School in Austin TX.
