After coming together in Oct of 2006, Stir Of Echoes worked diligently on writing and recording their debut album.

The album layers Ray D'Auria's testosterone fuelled vocal work with Marco Ciardullos' back-to-basics riffs and rooted overdriven but bluesy tones that covers everything from yesterday's classics to today's new rock.

Along with bass player Carmine and drummer Darryl Brown, being the meat and potatoes of Stir Of Echoes, they are quickly being recognized as a pulse pounding hard rock groove driven dynamic duo generating a record full of rock and roll at its finest. With standout tracks like ""Sentimental"" and ""Shake"", the music of Stir Of Echoes appeals to rock fans and non-rock fans alike. With their combined experience and knowledge of the stage, Stir Of Echoes has set a precedent and endeavours to always break new ground.

From fluke to rapid-fire recognition, local band Stir of Echoes brings together a mesh of styles and talent which has been garnering attention from industry and new fans.
Consisting of Carmine D’Auria as bass guitarist, Darryl Brown on drums, Marco Ciardullo as guitarist, and Ray D’Auria as vocalist, Stir of Echoes delivers hardcore rock with foundational influences from blues and some metal.

The band formed in late 2006 around the creation of the recently-released, self-titled debut album.

Each of the band members has played for years with other bands, but Burlington resident Carmine D’Auria said this lineup is a natural fit.

“We were talking about what we wanted to do with this band for most of 2006 but when we came together to jam in the fall, we realized instantly that we have something here. In the first rehearsal, we wrote Sentimental — a song I consider a personal best. It has been a great ride ever since.”

Stir of Echoes plans to record a video for its song Sold It All to Fame this month and will hold an official CD release party.

“When we came together, we planned to record two or three songs then go our own way again but the collaboration went so well, we went 100 percent. We gel so well that it happened quickly, almost effortlessly.”

The band wrote a lot of material and already has half of the next album written. Since its debut album was released last year, Stir of Echoes is promoting this one before focusing on the next; however, it does plan to record the second album this year.

“The first album is usually to get something out there and the second album develops the band’s style, and I can already see our song writing is progressing,” explained D’Auria. “We can start to see how the second album with tie in to the first.”

Since the band’s recording, Stir of Echoes was picked up by Cyclone Records, which has worked on generating interest in the band locally and internationally from Toronto and Alberta to the United States and United Kingdom.

On May 24, Stir of Echoes will perform live to air on Image FM, which named the band Band of the Year last year.

“It’s fantastic,” noted D’Auria. “In such a short period of time, a lot has happened, primarily from word of mouth, too. We’ve felt like this is out of our hands, it’s bigger than we can handle so we just go with it.”
