Wayne Simpson has been an exceptional singer/songwriter for most of his life. He prides himself mainly on his writing ability and his ability to reach people. Wayne was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where he lived until he was 23 years old. In 1983, Wayne moved to New York to pursue a career in music. Two years later, he thought his dreams were over after he lost the two friends that moved there with him in a fatal car accident they were rear ended by a drunk driver. His dealings with people following that event caused Wayne to lose faith in people, and question whether or not it was worth the trouble to go forward. After meeting a wonderful and very supportive woman, Wayne continued to work toward his dream. Now married (to this same supportive woman) and with two beautiful children, Wayne is even more inspired to write, as exemplified in his very moving track ""I'm Proud that You're My Child"". His love for his family and friends is evident in his music. His most recent song, ""Standing Ovation"", was inspired by the last presidential election, where people of all races and nationalities came together for a common goal. For that reason alone, we should all give our nation a ""Standing Ovation"". Wayne believes that there is always time for dance music and fun music... but at the end of the day, when the ""booty shaking"" is over and everyone has returned home, there needs to be music to help people get through their everyday lives. He has said many times, ""if I can touch at least one person, through my music, then everything that I have worked for will be worthwhile"". For every time I was let down by someone, it has made me stronger. For every time I have been underestimated, it has made me work harder. This CD gives props to the families...to the parents.. the kids, friends and loved ones ... as well as the pioneer artists that led the way for R&B music. Last, but definitely not least,... to a nation that has come to realize that ""united we'll stand but divided we'll fall"". Wayne has truly been a hidden talent, for years.  Amazingly enough,  two of his songs (""Proud That You're My Child ""& ""Together, Forever, At Last"") have quickly become very  popular new Wedding Songs, in a very short amount of time.  These songs contain every sentiment a parent would want to express to a child and every emotion that a bride & a groom experience on their wedding day. You cannot listen to this cd without walking away feeling somethng inspiring.
